RESULTS:

Alex Moiseyev reported. "GAYP WCDF WQT is over."  Incidentally, I was lucky to win 7 games and lose only one and winning prestigious event. I just made less mistakes than other. Congratulations to Italian maestro Claudio Campi with second place and no losing any 2-games match. This will be my second GAYP World Title Match. First one I played with Suki 25 years ago, 2000 Petal, USA where everyone won 3 games and 18 draws. GM Alex Moiseyev will challenge

Albert Nyange Nyange, who lives in Nairrobi, Kenya committed, "Congratulations to Alex, but you are very lucky because African players were not there Kenya and South Africa, Africa players needs the sponsors"

Posted on fb by Alexander Moiseyev - Hello, my friends, Draughts colleagues and everyone in this group! I am playing checkers / Draughts for more than 60 years - different styles and calibers of events: from local and state level to World events. This one In Trieste is definitely on top with no doubts! Many thanks to FID and Italy sport authorities for wonderful support and organizing all annual 2025 WCDF events on such high level of standards and service. Many thanks to Main Referee WCDF President Dr. Richard Beckwith and members of Referee Team.
I spent here in Trieste two unforgettable weeks with my wife and without her great moral and spiritual support I would never ever do so well. One year is out, next one is coming!
Bye-bye Trieste, 2026 bids are welcome Yours sincerely, ALEMO

The GAYP (Go As You Please, in free motion) women's world championships have ended, which has welcomed in Trieste, from October 13 to 18, at the headquarters of ConfCommercio, the best players in the specialty world. Excellent performance of the Azzurri, they add to the Italian board three world titles and several medals. Davide Gemma (already iridescent 3-move), in front of the very young Valeriia Yezhova (Ukraine) and Tommaso Lodato (Aosta).

The women's world title is the bracket of Ukraine's Anastasiia Glushko, who precedes Nadiya Chyzhevska (outgoing champion) and Wynnell Neverson (Barbados). World Qualifier Alexander Moiseyev (USA), ahead of Claudio Ciampi from Piombina and Jack Francis from Barbadoreno. Moiseyev is therefore the challenger for the GAYP title held by Livorno Matteo Bernini (match in 2026).

The GAYP Blitz World Championship has been stunned by the blue Matteo Bernini, with five lengths of advantage on the brianzolo Luciano Negrone; on the podium Alexander Moiseyev; Claudio Ciampi fourth. Among the youngsters Davide Gemma stands out, ahead of Tommaso Lodato and Valeriia Yezhova (UKR). Anastasiia Glushko also wins the GAYP Blitz World Championship, ahead of Nadiya Chyzhevska and Valeriia Yezhova on equal points with Elodie Rosset (ITA, Aosta) and Wynell Neverson, fourth and fifth respectively.
Directed WCDF World President Richard Beckwith, assisted by Rashid Md Tahsinur (Ita, Bergamo) and Loris Berenggan (Ita, Malo - VI). At the awards were the President of ConfCommercio Trieste, Antonio Paoletti, the FID President Carlo Bordini, the FVG Delegate Luciano Marsilli, the Board Member TAFISA Marco Tomasini and Oleksandra Boliak IOC young leader. Also present are the Vice President Vicario FID Claudio Ciampi, the Vice President FID Francesca De Santis, as well as Matteo Santarossa and Maria Ester Menegalgo from the CD Dama Zoppola, who organized the event under the auspices of FID and WCDF.

From Charles Musyoka - stated FID Kenya Draughts Association was fully behind this event we shall make all efforts to be represented by Benard Odao, Steven Owino, and "Goj" from South Africa. Crispin "Goj" Ojwang who won Blitz, 3-Move National, and 11-Man Ballot at the Vidor Checkers Festival in Texas but they didn't get their visas and finances completed so they couldn't participate in the 2025 WCDF World Championship GAYP in Trieste, Italy. These players from South Africa were planning to attend.
